BESPOKE APERITIF

“Convivium” is born from the design of Paul Pestelli and the executive mastery of Tommaso Pestelli, who blend beechwood, agate stone, and silver into a single, handcrafted object. It is a contemporary and functional furnishing element, designed to bring warmth and practicality to the convivial moment of the aperitif.

The object’s versatility emerges from its multifunctional components: the agate bowls, designed to hold snacks, can be easily removed and transformed into candle holders, helping to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Alongside them, four triangular beechwood segments can be moved and arranged freely, adapting to different tastes or occasions. The two-tone wood allows for a different chromatic interplay every time, capable of shifting to suit the space and the setting.

The ease of use of “Convivium” lies in the equilateral triangle shape of the individual elements, which reassemble effortlessly on the base. A series of magnets embedded in the boards allows each piece to be extracted and repositioned instantly, ensuring the ensemble remains orderly and harmonious.

The project draws its soul from the encounter between the harmony of Renaissance geometries and artisan tradition. The use of the equilateral triangle recalls the balance typical of the Renaissance, evoking the marble bicolorism of historical monuments and the precision of inlaid cabinetry. In this dialogue between history and modernity, “Convivium” follows the creative thread of “Nautilus 1″—one of our most significant furnishing pieces—celebrating the union of diverse materials, the perfection of the golden ratio, and the inspiration of the Renaissance context.
